South Lanarkshire-Hamilton Mausoleum.jpg
I used to go to college in Hamilton during a rebellious, scientific and academic phase. It was a year full of experimentation and boredom.
To escape the more mundane aspects of my course I would go to Hamilton Mausoleum and sketch the lions. So I know this building well.
It’s masculine, imposing, forceful and solid but washed out and weathered, a contradiction of architecture and materials.
The day was calm and the shoot was easy, a familiar place with the silence you would expect of a tomb.
