Aberdeenshire-old and new Pitsligo Kirk.jpg
The sky was dark when I arrived. It began to break above my head and what a brilliant thing to happen in a graveyard waiting for the shot.
A swallow flew above and would dive and swoop over the old kirk. I was thinking about sailors and their tattoos of swallows. Swallows mate for life and are very loyal. Like star ships they swirled above the missing roof of the old kirk.
In Christian tradition swallows are considered symbolic of life, death, eternal love and rebirth and so they were part of this nature, which connected with me for this site: a kirk, a graveyard, an old building and a new building.
