  • A three frame pano stitch was required here, I think the view of the northern end of Loch Etive between Beinn Trilleachan and Ben Starav can only be properly captured in this format. It was wonderful to watch the last of the days light play across the hills in the distance from Bidean nam Bian to Stob nan Cabar. Such moments fills me with joy and appreciation of our bonnie landscapes.

  • Took a drive as far as I could go up the eastern side of Loch Etive. Got on my bike and headed off from the car park (huffing and puffing) to Inverliver, some bonnie winter views looking north across the loch to keep my legs going. A wee hike up a hill gave me some truly breathtaking vistas and particularly loved the brief spell of light that defined the peaks above Dail cottage on the western shore

  • Heading along the '82 on route to Kinlochleven and just had to pull over. The Lochan view always makes me smile when I drive past and was looking especially braw this day.

  • Nice wee afternoon on Sunday in ever changing conditions. Glimpsed this scene from afar while down at the banks of Loch Tulla and swapped to the 70-200mm lens quickly before the light was lost.

  • The venerable pines that stand proud by the banks of Loch Tulla with Winters blanket covering all to Black Mount in the distance.

  • Shot on a lovely winters afternoon just as the light began to fade over this iconic little Lochan.

  • A difficult one to shoot in the flat light and first instincts to move closer were resisted. Loved the little sprinkling of powder clinging to the tress and bushes, giving a wee bit of depth and framing to the falls.

  • The wonderful dunes at Rattray Head, and the famous Stevenson Lighthouse just off shore.

  • Spotted this lovely wee bowed tree while clambering up Eastbow Hill near Gleneagles. The bend curves over time from successive sheep rubbing themselves against the trunk.

  • From Eastbow Hill above Gleneagles. Always nice watching weather fronts slowly moving over the land from afar, grabbed this shot while waiting for the light to re-appear.

  • Light glancing over the snowdrifts on Stob a'Chorie Odhair
    _DSC7938.tif
  • The old classic from earlier in the year when winters blanket still had a firm grip on the Highland hills.
