An impressive and very photogenic building. There was a big party going on so the building was surrounded by people and cars. I went for a walk to scope out the surroundings. As a building the lighthouse’s relationship with its landscape is integral to its form and how it sits on and in the landscape.
I wanted to see the lighthouse reflected in the sea. The rocks were like a microcosm of the calmness and danger of sea life. A suggestion of navigation and direction with the lighthouse as a metaphor for that guidance.
