Kirkintilloch telephone kiosk
This was an interesting one. From where I was taking the shot, I had my back against a bus stop. The high street was full of cars, pedestrians, police and shoppers. Some old boys settled near me and chatted about the area, about what had been happening in the town.
The high street is like a mouthpiece and the streets are rows of teeth. Some are rotten and wearing away and some are new and of the time we live in now. The phone box had no phone in it. One generation of this town will recognise this as something we used to need and others as a cultural icon.
To me this picture is all about lines. Connecting lines, communicating lines, leading lines, perspective lines; all the lines in this image connect to the empty phone box.
